Program Description:

About the Program

Program is coordinated by office of Pre-medical Programs. Involves a semester long planning process in which Brigaders meet weekly with program faculty. Brigade involves three days of operating a Medical and Dental Clinic and three days of conducting public health projects as assigned by Global Brigades. Program description can be found at:

Students will be required to show Spanish competency above the SPN 101 or SPN 131 level OR must take SPN 101 or SPN 131 concurrently with MED 339.

Pre-Departure Orientation

Participants enroll in MED 339 course, which is a graded course. It will meet Wednesdays at 5:05. Students must attend each class to participate in the brigade. This is a major commitment. You must be willing to commit your time and energy to this effort or you will lose your place on the program.

Cost and Refund Policy

The cost of the program is $950 plus airfare (to be determined). The program cost of the trip covers ground transportation, lodging, and most food. Students pay program fee and airfare to Global Brigades after acceptance to the program.  See budget sheet for more specific cost information and the refund policy for this program.
